Introduction

The world of cybersecurity is fast-paced and constantly evolving, and I’m excited to be actively contributing through my current internship. This experience has given me valuable hands-on opportunities to grow in the field, and I’m looking forward to taking the next steps to further enhance my skills and career prospects.

Current Internship: Learning Through Experience

I’m currently interning with Resilience Inc., where I’ve had the chance to contribute to identifying risks and vulnerabilities in company systems. Through detailed data analysis, I’ve been able to assess potential threats and provide actionable recommendations to improve security. One of my key contributions has been creating an Effective Access Control List (EACL) document to help the organization better manage group permissions and access. I have also been able to create an IRP plan for the company as well as contribute to a BCP and IR plan. Being able to get my hands on and learn to create such documents is forever going to help me in the future.

This role has been an incredible opportunity to learn about real-world cybersecurity challenges and the importance of collaboration in a professional setting. I’ve gained insights into how organizations operate, the critical role of clear communication in professional meetings, and how to align technical solutions with business needs.

Looking Ahead: Summer Goals

As rewarding as this experience has been, I’m already setting my sights on a paid internship for the summer. A paid role would not only support me financially but also provide an opportunity to further apply my growing knowledge in a dynamic environment. I’m eager to deepen my expertise, particularly in areas like cloud security and data protection, and I plan to continue pursuing certifications such as Network+ and additional cloud-focused credentials.

My passion for cybersecurity drives me to stay engaged and informed. I make it a priority to keep learning every day, whether through hands-on work, staying updated on the latest trends, or refining my technical skills. I’m committed to balancing this growth with maintaining a healthy lifestyle by locking in at the gym and focusing on staying energized and disciplined.
